Welcome!

I want to say that I am so happy that you decided to visit my blog.

When I started this blog in 2019, I used it as a culmination of reviews of books that I’ve read and has expanded to include some of my favorite recipes. I am still working on building things so it’s a work in progress. And then in 2021, I published my first book and I wasn’t reviewing as much as I used to… and then to be honest, I completely let this blog fall apart.

Since 2021, I’ve published five more books with another currently in progress. And while I don’t want my author and reader personas to cross, I knew I couldn’t be the reviewer I once was. And that’s okay. I still read and I still love books so I don’t see me ever not reading, but as of today – 9/1/2024 – this blog will be going through some major changes. I’ll be redoing all of my previous reviews and revisiting some of my favorite books that I’ve read.

If you’re still here, I hope you stick with me as I transition this blog into something I am proud of instead of something I let fail.

If you’re new here, here’s a little info about me. I am an Army veteran and Army wife, although my husband has officially retired. We currently reside in Clarksville TN. We have two small kids who are currently homeschooled. We have 1 dog and 3 cats, so we have a small zoo here. I work from home as an independently published author with hopes that it becomes a full time career. I love to read, do puzzles and hang out with my family. I collect snow globes. That’s about all I can think of for now.

When it comes to my reviews, I used to get a lot of Advanced Reader Copies from authors who I’ve either signed up for, have joined their team, or they’ve reached out to me to read their works. I am truly blessed to be able to do this. Since publishing my own book I have slowed down on the amount of ARC’s I receive, although I still do receive them from fellow authors who graciously allowed me to continue to be on their team.

I started my journey with reading and reviewing while my husband was deployed. Reading was a great way to escape from the craziness that is deployment. I found that I really enjoyed a good romance novel and found quite a few of my favorite authors. I started networking and signing up for ARCs and the next thing I knew, I was really enjoying what I was doing. There are times where I feel a bit overloaded by all the books I have to get done, and now that my husband is home, I can’t dedicate time like I used to. Before, I was up all night reading because I hated going to an empty bed. Now that he is home, I’m not up until 3am sucked into a book. Okay, okay, sometimes it happens… but it is rare these days.

All in all, this is a place where I hope I continue to grow as a book reviewer. So thank you for taking a chance on me! For being here. I hope you find the books you love, and if you want to reach out and talk, click the Let’s talk section! I’d love to connect with more people about books!!
